Mark Haswell qualified at Kings in 1987 and has worked at Stradbrook since 1990, becoming a partner in 1993. He is described by his nurse as an “implant anorak” and has been carrying out implant based treatment since 1991. Mark was one of the first UK dentists to undertake an MSc in Implant Dentistry. He is also registered as a Specialist Prosthodontist. He teaches at the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute, teaching advanced implant dentistry. In 2014 Mark and Stradbrook Implants were added to the Warwick University Masters Training Team offering surgical training to the qualified Dentists.
Mark is highly regarded both for his experience and knowledge, and lectures regularly nationally and internationally on all aspects of implant-based treatment. He is also on the editorial board of both UK and US implant journals.
Mark enjoys golf and is a bit of a fitness fanatic, enjoying cycling and running around the Lake District for charity.
Mark is married to Sarah and has two children and a border terrier.

DDS, Specialist in Oral Surgery
Carl Manhem qualified from Dental College, University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1983. He completed his specialisation in Oral Surgery in 1994 at University of Linköping, Sweden.
Carl worked in two University Hospitals in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Stockholm, Sweden and Aarhus, Denmark as Assistant Professor for five years. During this period, he also worked at several Implant Clinics and a Private Hospital as a Consultant with implant treatment of patients with all kinds of complex cases.
In 1998 he moved to London, England, and worked at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. First as Clinical lecturer, full-time, at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology until 2002 and from 2002 Clinical lecturer part-time at Eastman Dental Institute – Continuing Professional Development, University College London to date.
Alongside this Carl also runs a surgical private practice in London with special interest in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery and Implantology. Carl joined Stradbrook in 2007.
His main clinical interests are Implantology, in which he has 20 years of experience, Reconstructive Surgery and Orthognathic Surgery and teaching in the above mentioned areas. Since October 2000, he has run Implantology courses at EDI -CPD, University College London and also lectures nationally and internationally.
Carl is married to Kylie and has four children. He enjoys downhill skiing, golf and going to the gym.

Efstathios received his Diploma of Dental Surgery in 2009 from University of Athens, Greece. He worked in General Practice in Greece before he moved to the UK in 2010. From 2010 until September 2012 he worked as a general Dentist in a mixed NHS and private practices in the Norfolk region.
In 2012 he was accepted and enrolled in the three year, full time specialty-training program in Periodontology (Gums) at the renowned Eastman Dental Institue (Univesity College London). In 2015, he obtained his MClinDent in Periodontologyand in the same year he was awarded a Certificate in Periodontology accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology.
The Eastman MClinDent (Perio) program is one of 13 European periodontology programs, and the only one in the UK which is accredited byt the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
Efstathios is also involved in research. He has an active research portfolio and is currently Clinical Research Fellow at the Centre of Clinical Oral Research at the Institute of Dentisty (Queen Mary University of London) participating in clinical trials focusing on the treatment of peri-implant and periodontal diseases.
He is currently working closely wit our dental team to provide periodontal treatment for our patients and thos referred from other practices. He has a wide experience in periodontal treatment, including non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases including conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, periodontal plastic/aesthetic surgery, alveolar bone augmentation procedures and dental implants.

BchD, MDent (Pros), Specialist in Prosthodontics
René Roets qualified as a dentist at the University of Stellenbosch in 1979 and as a specialist dentist in Prosthodontics at the University of Witwatersand in 1992. He relocated to Stradbrook Dental Centre in 1997 from his private specialist practice in Cape Town, South Africa.
His career includes training undergraduate and postgraduate students in Prosthodontics. During his appointment as senior lecturer at university he was involved in the running of clinics for temporo-mandibular joint disorders, maxillo-facial prosthetics and implantology. He has developed a special interest in orthodontic treatment as an adjunct to his prosthetic speciality using the Six Month Smiles fixed orthodontic system, as well as Inman aligners as he believes that patients should be treated holistically rather than symptomatically. He accepts referrals both from other dentists and our own patients.

Diarmuid Buckley qualified at Kings in 1989; he has worked as an associate at Stradbrook since 1995.
Diarmuid was awarded the premier prize in Implantology by Warwick University in 2011, and his research, carried out at Stradbrook in conjunction with the University, has won several national and international prizes. This contributed to him being selected as the “best overall Masters student “ at Warwick University during his studies there.
In 2011, his paper on Aqueous Ozone was presented at the IADR conference in San Diego. More recently a study by Diarmuid was awarded first prize in its category at the world’s largest dental research conference in Brazil. Diarmuid has written and contributed to several articles on the subject of implants in the Dental press. Diarmuid has lectured on the subjects of implants, cone beam computer tomography and the use of ozone in Dentistry. His main interest continues to be implant treatment and further research on the use of Ozone to combat dental infection and eliminate the bacteria that can cause dental disease.
Diarmuid is an Aikido 3rd Dan, and GB squad member in three world championships, and he also enjoys dog walking, motorbikes and flying- he is hoping to have time to achieve his private pilot license.
He is married to Sarah and has three daughters, a lurcher and a border terrier.

Mehdi graduated from the School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield in 2007. Since qualifying as a dentist Mehdi has undertaken extensive postgraduate training enabling him to provide the best possible care to the patients he treats. He completed his vocational training in Manchester 2008 before working as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Norwich 2009, gaining Oral Surgery experience. Shortly after this post Mehdi successfully completed his membership examination to the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons. From 2009 to 2011 Mehdi worked as a Specialty Dentist in Oral Surgery at King’s College Hospital in London where he contributed to the teaching of Dental students and the training of junior dentists in Oral Surgery. During this time Mehdi completed a postgraduate Diploma in Dental Sedation, training at Guy’s Hospital, London 2010. Mehdi maintained his commitment to general dentistry by working in general dental practice.
Mehdi’s experience and commitment to career development enables him to provide Oral Surgery services as a ‘Dentist with Special Interest’ for patients referred by their General Dental Practitioners, whilst providing a high standard of general dental services supplemented with sedation for anxious patients.
Mehdi now works at the award winning Stradbrook Dental Centre in Tonbridge, Kent, whilst undertaking further clinical training by studying for an MSc in Implant Dentistry at the University of Warwick.
Mehdi’s calm and caring approach to Dentistry ensures that his patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout the course of their treatment.
When not at work Mehdi enjoys football, running and spending time with Family and Friends.
Dental Nurse, Receptionist and Clinical ITCoordinator 1998-present
Wendy began her career as a dental nurse in 1981 and after a break to raise her 3 children she started work at Stradbrook in 1998. In 2002 she completed the NEBDN national certificate.
In 2008 she completed her cerificate in Dental Radiography and had further training from the HPA and the manufacturers of our Morita CBCT scanner to enable her to take 3d (cone beam CT) scans.
As well as reception duties Wendy is involved in the various training courses run here at Stradbrook, including the AIHM advanced Implant course and the Dental Nurse Implant course.
In 2009 when the Implant Centre opened, Wendy became one of our Treatment Co-ordinators, acting as a main point of contact for our patients and referring dentists regarding financial options and appointment planning.

Sharon is one of the Dental nurses in our surgical centre she completed her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 1996.
She joined the Stradbrook team in 1990 and has mostly nursed with Mark Haswell since then. She has been a dental nurse since 1990 during this time she has worked with general dentists, implant dentists, Prosthodontists and Sedationists.

Dental Nurse and Treatment Co-ordinator
Anita is one of the Dental nurses in our surgical centre she completed her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2001 and the National Certificate in Dental Radiography in 2012 and has received comprehensive training by the manufacturers to allow her to take 3D (Cone Beam CT) Scans.
She joined the Stradbrook team in 2008. She has been a dental nurse since 1998 during this time she has worked with general dentists, implant dentists, Prosthodontists, Periodontists and Sedationists. Since 2015 she has been one of our treatment co-ordinators, and as such is a first point of contact for our many referred patients and referring dentists. She is able to assist patients on their treatment journey and help them to find the best financial option available. She also helps with the running of our many and varied training courses.

Leanne is one of the fully qualified and registered Dental Nurses in our surgical centre she completed her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2007 and also her BSc (Hons) in Dental Technology in 2011 but missed meeting and interacting with patients and therefore decided to return to nursing.
She joined the Stradbrook team in 2012 and has been a dental nurse since 2005 during this time she has worked with general dentists, implant dentists, Prosthodontists, Orthodontists and Sedationists.

Dental Nurse & Treatment Coordinator 2000- Present
Michelle completed the National certificate course in Dental Nursing in 1993 since when she has been working as a full time dental nurse.
In 1996 she completed her certificate in Dental Radiography and in 2009 received comprehensive training by the manufacturers and also further training recommended by the HPA to allow her to take 3D (Cone Beam CT) Scans.
In May 2000 she joined the team at Stradbrook looking to broaden her experience in specialist areas such as Dental Implants and Periodontics (gum disease). During her time here she has worked closely with all our highly experienced Implant dentists and Gum specialists thus giving her valuable experience and knowledge in these areas.
When the new Implant & Skin Centre opened in 2009 Michelle then became one of our Treatment Coordinators, which means she is the main point of contact for patients and referring dentists regarding treatment plans and components for restorations. This has streamlined the whole process from referral to consultation to completion of treatment for each patient, which also allows us to see more patients each day to reduce waiting times.

Sue is one of the fully qualified and registered Dental nurses in our surgical centre she completed her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 1990.
She joined the Stradbrook team in 2011 and has been working as a dental nurse since 1981. During this time she has worked with general dentists, implant dentists, Prosthodontists, Periodontists, Orthodontists and a Plastic Surgeon and therefore has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
